From Solo Venture to Growing IT Firm

Maptech is an IT company established in February 2022. Prud, the founder, was the only employee at the time. With her knowledge of the healthcare industry’s IT requirements, she aims to position Maptech as a provider of high-quality solutions at competitive prices in the Philippine market.

A Sangfor Partner since its establishment, Maptech completed multiple projects in the healthcare industry in 2023, including anti-ransomware solutions and on-premises cloud infrastructure. Two years have passed, and Maptech has not only survived in the Philippines but also grown to seven staff members covering sales and technical roles.

Partnering with Sangfor: In the Words of Prud

To gain deeper insights, Danni He, Sangfor’s Channel Operations Expert, recently sat down with Prud for an interview. They discussed Maptech’s journey, the support received from Sangfor, and the future plans.

Danni: In the beginning, you had to manage everything at the company by yourself, from administrative tasks to delivery and to after-sales support. How did Sangfor assist you during this time?

Prud: Sangfor was incredibly supportive. They attended meetings with me, answered client queries, and planned the next steps. They also provided guidance on pricing and implementation, which played a crucial role in closing projects.

Danni: How did Sangfor support you during projects?

Prud: When we had meetings with clients, Sangfor’s team joined us to present solutions. During the project, they prepared the bill of materials and helped us build a relationship with the client. Their presence and expertise were invaluable.

Danni: You mentioned that you don’t have a technical background. How did Sangfor help you with that?

Prud: Yes, I come from an account management background and didn’t have any technical expertise. Sangfor provided training to address this. They taught me how to understand the technical aspects of solutions and how to strategize for different projects. Sangfor is currently in the process of training our technical and operations managers too.

Danni: Running a company involves more than just the selling process. How has Sangfor helped you manage Maptech?

Prud: Yes, I know the selling process well, but managing a company was new to me. To be honest, I’m still learning. Fortunately, Sangfor has also been guiding me on what I need to do to manage the company effectively and ensure stability. That’s how we work together; we work as a team.

Danni: Can you share why you chose Sangfor as a partner?

Prud: As a startup, we struggled to gain the trust of vendors, but Sangfor gave Maptech their trust. Secondly, Sangfor provides us with comprehensive support, from project cooperation to recruiting and training new staff. Thirdly, Sangfor guides me in shaping Maptech’s future. It’s not just about the financial side; it’s also about how Maptech grows and thrives.

Danni: Finally, is there any advice you would like to give to Sangfor?

Prud: Sangfor is doing a great job penetrating the Philippine market, so my advice is to be consistent—consistent in their support to partners, because it creates a domino effect. When Sangfor supports resellers, the resellers offer more support to their clients. This, in turn, reflects positively on Sangfor and enhances their reputation.

Partnership Goals and Roadmap

With these positive experiences, Maptech is setting ambitious goals for the future. They aim to double their sales in the short term and expand into other industries with Sangfor’s assistance. This includes organizing more joint offline events for different industries to promote Sangfor products and solutions among its clients.

Additionally, Maptech plans to provide direct support to clients. Prud stated, “I want us to handle technical support independently. That’s why I’m asking Sangfor to help train my team. This way, we can start offering our own services, and Sangfor can focus on helping other resellers who are in the same situation as we were.”
